Because spending his birthday in a tent one windy weekend with his family wasn't exactly what he was looking for, Graham was granted one more wish for his big 17th. Friday night he had some friends over for food and a movie. We all had a great time! Graham sure knows how to pick good friends and they were all under their best behavior.
At his request, we had chips and salsa from Gringos, cake and ice cream, cookies, Reese cups, cream soda and stuffed jalapeños. It was hard to stay away from all the yummy stuff. We didn't discuss the cake too much. I asked him what he wanted it to say, he looked around and simple said "Wal-mart smiley face." I asked him where that came from and he just smiled and said it was the first thing that came to his mind. There was no price slashing going on, but we were happy all night.

Can't believe you guys poked Smiley's eyes with candles! I believe it was Shakespeare that said, "I never count myself so lucky as when I count my friends". I'm glad Graham knows how to pick 'em. And the kids are all lucky enough to have a step-mom that genuinely cares and is good enough to make every milestone in their lives memorable.
