I'm sure you all are a little perplexed about my mass blog postings lately. I guess I've just gotten a burst of motivation from out of nowhere.
It's the exercise I tell ya! This morning I was dragging a little, but I put my workout clothes on first thing just to be sure I would not wimp out. I got the last kid out the door and turned to find my sweet husband all decked out in his warm up pants and tennis shoes. He's so fun to be with and it made my workout fly today!
I was so surprised at how good I felt this morning. I didn't even need an extra long warm up from the weekend. Then I realized it... the reason why I was feeling so darn good. I started week 3 with 4 mins. of walking and 3 mins. of jogging and repeated it 3 times. For all you people out there who may not have read my initial blog about my training plan, week three was supposed to consist of walking for 3 mins. and jogging for 4 mins. REPEAT 4 TIMES! Guess I am a little dyslexic after all. It's no wonder I felt so good (cutting my time and workout short!) There is, however, always tomorrow... and the next day... and the next....
The good news is that after today, I really think I can do it without any problems. I feel like my heart is stronger! I'm still out of breath more than I think I should be and my legs get a little wobbly after about my second round, but I'm still holding up pretty good. I could have gone on longer today, but I was trying to pace myself.
My only complaint is that with all this working out and TRYING to be a little more conscientious about what I put in my mouth (although not 100% obedient,) I'm still not losing any weight and my jeans aren't fitting any better. Perseverance!
It was pretty chilly this morning at about 44 degrees. Crazy talk for April. But it felt good. Mike mentioned something about a treadmill but I don't know if I'll ever go that route. Seems I read somewhere that if you are really interested in running the 5 and 10k, then you should train outside. The treadmill tends to do some of the work for you, then when you get out on the concrete you are on your own. Makes sense to me. We'll see if I change my mind this summer when it's sweltering!
Keep me posted on your progress!
