Post hurricane party! Part 2
This is my family eating a pretty darn good meal of grilled chicken, mac and cheese with bread, all prepared without an ounce of power.
This is a picture I took outside of our window upstairs. It's tough taking pictures through double paned windows! This is our neighbors storage building. The wind pieced it apart one wall at a time. The mess on the bottom left of the picture is all his stuff that was in the building. Did you notice in my previous post I had pictures of the nice work Mike did in strapping down our storage building. He's the MAN!
This was Saturday afternoon after the winds died down. Looks like a huge post hurricane party! We had more kids on our cul-de-sac then I've ever seen. Where'd they all come from??
My Mike braving the roof repair! He had to staple vinyl and lanolium until we can get in line for the roofer.

Chelle, I am so thankful for the update. I have read a lot about Ike and I feared that you would be without power for a month. I am grateful you area all ok.
I also love that you are so happy. You deserve the best.
All our love

It's so good to hear from you. I've been checking your blog every day for an update. Paul and I prayed for you every night. Thank you for sharing your testimony of being prepared. I've been feeling that I need to work on building our food storage so we can be ready when we need it. Your post has given me that extra push that I need.
By the way, Thank you so much for the remembering my birthday. I loved your card. I miss you and can't wait to see you again!
glad that is all over for you! you guys got it pretty easy compared to most in the path of the hurricane, didn't you...and good for mike for strapping everything down...very smart of him
looking forward to more pictures!
Wow! Glad you guys survived and with minimal damage!! I agree...the power of prayer and the words of our prophets seem to comfort in times like this!
