The hardships of camping...

My Mike is the Scout Master of troop 460 here in Pearland. He is a good man to fulfill this calling and support his sons throughout their boy scouting years. He did, after all, earn his Eagle Scout at age 13! BUT, he's told me on more than one occasion that if we ever have another child, he's really praying for a girl. My poor Scout Master is not an outdoors type of guy. Unless you consider driving topless in the Mini an outdoors activity.

This week they are camping. Even though I knew Mike wasn't looking forward to this trip at all, he was a good sport and stayed positive. My heart goes out to those boys. I know they will be cold in the evenings outside of their thick, flannel sleeping bags and battery operated heater. Poor things. They were to pack light this week for the 2008 Winter Camp at Enchanted Rock. Does that include the air mattress and cell phone with wireless internet? Poor things. Camping is so strenuous when all they have is beautiful scenary to hike through and full service bathrooms. I feel so bad for them. They have to suffer through the pains of preparing and serving their delicious meals over a stove. Oh, and of course there is the dreaded Krispy Kream.
Poor things. They look absolutely miserable. Welp... I'm off to clean the house, go grocery shopping, put away Christmas decorations, finish the laundry, entertain Maddie. All before my 12 hour graveyard shift begins tonight. :-)
