Believe It

Snow! It blessed our lives on Christmas day 4 years ago. Then again briefly in 2008. Then, would you believe, again this mild 2009 winter. What's happening to south Texas? Well, we aren't going to complain because we believe that miracles never cease.

Here are a few pictures of our recent snowdays. Mike and I got kids off to school and went about our workday. Having heard there was a chance of snow, we kept our hopeful eyes open to the windows most of the morning. All of the sudden, snow flakes. Big ones! We were like kids, dancing and singing. We could hardly contain ourselves. There really is something magical about snow, especially in Texas. We contemplated scooping kids up from school, but knew that a couple of them had tests and the other was enjoying career day. So we hopped in the car and head out to the store to gather jackets, hoodies, gloves, scarfs, etc. (Two days later, by the way, I found myself standing in line at Customer Service with returns. Overzealous.) By the time the kids got home, there was just enough snow on the ground to make a mini-me Frosty. We've been in this house over 3 years now and not once have we started a fire in the fireplace. Until this year. I finally talked Mike into letting go of the nice, clean white fireplace. It was wonderful! We roasted marshmellows for smores and sipped on hot chocolate and cider in front of the fire. Next day there was "talk" of snow again this year. Who am I to argue?

Man, you guys got all the good snow! We did enjoy watching it coming down though. In your pictures, I can almost feel the warmth from the fireplace. You got some kinda lucky kids! Look at all the good memories you guys make for them. And smores!
