The Car I Call "Bumble Bee"

Awhile back, Mike was researching the Austin Healy. He loved this little classic car and considered even buying one to restore. We went and looked at one and he was able to get in behind the drivers seat to get a good feel for what he wanted. And 6'4" baby bear said, "This little car is toooooo small." He was disheartened, but got over it real quick and started to research the Lotus. Ah, much better. A two seater that he could actually sit in without his head sticking out of the top! Sorta.

It was his first car to buy on ebay. It was a great transaction and he got a great deal. He loves this little car and it is, "just right."
One of the major issues we ran into was how in the heck was he going to store it. Heaven forbid any of the cars sat in the drive way, huh? Well, he researched (again) the heck out of a lift. He ordered one and successfully installed it in our 2-car garage. He hurt his back in the process and that set him back a few days, but we now have a 3-car garage that our neighbors can gawk at.
But now let me tell you about my little experience with the Lotus. It was a couple of weeks ago when Mike and I were Christmas shopping without the kids. We were coming out of the store and I got into the car. Anyone who has sat in a Lotus can agree that you don't just hop into the car. You wrestle, grunt and contort yourself into the car. Well, I was concentrating on the contortion when I sat down and all of the sudden felt a sharp pain in my backside. Yes, my derriere. It only seemed to get worse with time. I thought maybe I pulled something getting into the car because the pain started to shoot down my leg. I finally wrestled out of the car again and Mike spotted it. Right there under my tush, was a big ol' bee. The pain eventually subsided, but I'm now and forever will be, leary of the bee.
