Running Wild

Zack has always been the athlete in the family. He’s always had way more energy than any of us and is a fast runner. Last summer he took a strength and conditioning camp anticipating his first season of football. Not sure if it was his discovery of how time-consuming and challenging it would be OR the negative feedback he got from me and Mike… or both, but by the time football came around he had bailed out gracefully.

Several weeks later he decided to try cross country and did a great job. I think it was an eye opener for him but he improved with each meet and persevered until the end of the season. The other day he told me that he was interested in trying it again next year but he is also going to be involved in track. We think he will learn that he is better at short distance speed versus long distance endurance. But I think it’s wonderful that he is staying active and trying new things. Maybe we will train together and he can teach me a thing or two!
Here he is with a friend of the family. This kiddo belongs to Brad and Sabrina, who set me and Mike up on a blind date!
