Another year of privilege.

Maddie turned 12 in September. As always, because she is so positive, it was another good birthday for her. One that she had been looking forward to for a very long time.

Turning 12 introduces many new exciting firsts and privileges. After much patience and dedication to primary, she finally “graduated” to Young Womens and became the final Beehive of 2011. She was welcomed into Pearland Ward's program with open arms then yanked right out 2 weeks later to attend the Silverlake Ward. She has since learned that there is a very large group of Beehives and great YW leaders in the new ward so she is equally excited.

This year her mom bought her a bit of what I like to call tween make-up. A little bit of blush and a dab of lip gloss can add a boost to anyone’s self esteem. We also let her shave her hairy little legs and now compete for who’s got the best prickly cactus legs.

She celebrated her birthday with 3 of her besties and a sleepover, watching a movie, eating pizza and giggling into the night. Unrelated to her turning one year older, but just as exciting, Maddie also started ballet again. She is loving it!

Ah, life is good for a 12 year old.
