Block party for Ellen

A while ago, Ellen, the talk show host, gave away a house. The lucky recipient chose a brand spankin' new home in our subdivision. For weeks, there were all kinds of activities and commotions down the road during the process. One night during the filming, Mike and the kids walked over to check out the hype and maybe catch a glimpse of Ellen.

No Ellen. But there was this cutie pie Maddie so we took a picture of her instead.

Funny how people get so worked up about a celebrity. I remember being so caught up with Duran Duran and Howard Jones and even Wham! back in the day. Pictures posted all over the room, music blaring, what in the world possessed me to be so possessed? Ellen is not really a staple in our house but it was fun to see all the neighbors getting excited and gathering round. Just a bit of change of pace around these parts.
