Hurricanes are a pain in the butt. We are just sitting and watching what this thing is going to do. Not much more we can do at this point. Looks like it's heading to LA and picking up speed but it's too soon to tell. New Orleans is going to have a mandatory evacuation tomorrow. Seems like everyone gets into such a frenzy. We have family heading over to the San Antonio area and some heading our way. Katrina and Rita messed us up!
I get a little panicky myself. I am not even close to having a complete food storage, but I'm pretty confident that we could make it for a good long while. Thank goodness we've been instructed to be prepared! If we have to evacuate, I've got my family, my pictures and my important papers. But I'm pretty sure we will be overlooked by Gustav.
I have fond childhood memories of when we used to evacuate for Hurricanes. We would take off with our dear friends, the Bergers. I remember playing up and down the hotel stairs and running around the rooms. I guess it was just us kids and my Mom because my Dad would be staying behind with the fire department. It was pretty much a vacation for us kids!!
I'll keep you updated. Exciting stuff.
