On the way home we picked up some donuts as a treat for the rest of the family. I did not partake... and it was tough!
After breakfast I decided to wash the Pilot before I got all gusied (sp?) up for the day. The Pilot literally hasn't been washed in months and it was getting embarrasing. It was washed AND vacuumed. And it was freezing! My poor little fingers were numb. Graham came out to help, then Mike. As if we had not worked ourselves enough, we decided to wash and vacuum Nemo (the Mini Cooper) then sweep and mop the fancy floors of the garage.
Mike and I headed out to get air in the tires in his shiny topless car. By that time the sun was out and it was warming up. Such a beautiful convertible day! We got all kinds of attention. He says it always happens just after Nemo gets a bath. I think at least three people commented on the car!
On the way home there was a strong aroma in the air. Man was it luring! Long John Silver was the restaurant taking over our tastebuds. I worked at LJS in high school and still can't get enough. However, I resisted and only had 1 hushpuppy and 1 bite of Mike's fish. It was tough! We ate outside... did I mention it was a gorgeous day?!
While we were outside, we started picking some weeds from our little 8x8 patch of garden and before we knew it we were in it knee deep! We cleaned it up in anticipation of our Garden2009. We worked all that fish and hushpuppies off the boys!
We ended the evening with Gringos' fajitas, hot sauce and green sauce. Can anyone tell us how the heck you make that green sauce??!! To die for.

That is a Saturday in the life of the Feidler family minus our sweet Maddie who was runnin' around with her BFF. We love it when a day turns out so productive and happy.
Thanks for visiting.

You are right, Girlie Girl ... it's "gussied", but you were oh so close! It is an actual word, not slang, so go girl! Wish I could have spent the day with you. Fun. Mom
Gringos, Penas, and gardening. sounds like my kind of day!
