Temple Day

Friday Mike and I had the opportunity to enjoy the day together. We ran a couple of errands, including a drive to his office in North Houston. I love the one-on-one with him and I'm very blessed to have that, more often than many.

Really our whole trip to Houston was for our visit to the Houston Temple. For more information on the Mormon temple and what I believe, click on the black button/link on the right. The day was sunny, windy and beautiful! We were able to perform proxy sealings for those passed on. It's always a great experience in the temple where we are all there for one purpose. It was fun to see many friends I see often and some I hadn't seen in quite a while. It gives me comfort and solace.
When our temple session was over we headed home, back to real life of ortho appointments, kids home from school and chores. Mike however, headed to Katy to pick up his new summer toy. Yes, it was inevitible. We are the proud owners of yet another catamaran. Last summer our SplashII cracked and we were oh so sad. For a little while we had two boats in our not-so-big back yard, but he eventually pieced both of them out for more than enough to cover our expenses. He's good at that! Our back yard was quite naked until now. The new boat smaller and needs a lot of work but he got it for dirt cheap and it's a great project for him. I suspect we will be heading back out this summer to do a bit of sailing. Our favorite spot at the Texas City Dike was literally swept away from Hurricane Ike so we will be looking for a new spot. Here's a before clean-up picture:
And after:
Kids went with their mom last night and will return tonight. It's hard not to think of them as we go about our Saturday. And as much fun as we share together, we always look forward to their safe return home. We are grateful that our home is full of happy, healthy children that are so full of affection and love!

It's your fault I am procrastinating the SS lesson preparation ... much more interesting to read your blog and even though it makes me exhausted to even think about all you guys do, I'm a little envious and have decided your kiddos are lucky to live in your house with so much going on... they'd be BORED with anyone else! Well, I'm off to study .... Love, Mom
