More Oregon!

Wednesday after breakfast we headed up the mountain a little more. It was a scary drive, but so beautiful! Thanks so much to the all-terrain tires on the suburban so graciously lended by the Papritz'. We had heard so much about the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood and wanted to take this opportunity to see it for ourselves. It was indeed a great looking lodge.

It was crazy coming back down the mountain. First we saw snow everywhere and snow from the sky, then not so much snow, patches of snow on the ground, then some snow in the trees, then no snow on the ground and only rain, then it was only visible as we looked back. Sigh. It was gone and out of site.

Fortunately, the huge Evergreens were ever so vast and we were amazed once again at yet another source of Oregon beauty.

Since we were so close to Portland, we drove in and stopped at the temple to walk the grounds. I had been there before, but wanted Mike and the kids to have the experience. The first time I visited the Portland Temple years ago, I was with Tammy and she gave me a gift of scriptures with "Dearest Chelbo" enscribed on them. The scriptures and Tammy are so dear to my heart.
