We had a fantastic time! Man, what a treat. My friends Tammy and Dana so graciously hosted us in their fabulous home for an entire week. I've know Tammy and Dana for 20 plus years. My mom was Tammy's YW leader when she joined the church as a teenager. Tammy met Dana while he was on his mission. They married and had all four of their kiddos before he graduated and became the ultimate dentist. They took me in my senior year and have loved me like one of their own since. I will forever be in debt to them for all they've done for me and my family. I could say I've been their favorite orphan ever, but since my senior year, they've adopted two beautiful China babies, taken in two foreign exchange students, and I just recently met my replacement, a sweet new church convert that they cherish so. I suppose I needed to spend the week there to remind them that I'm still their all time favorite!
So you heard about our first day there with the Krispy Kream delight and the waterfalls. What a way to start the vacation! I shall proceed to tell you of the rest of the trip, with pictures in tow. But not all on this particular entry so stay tuned!
Sunday was low key. We went to church and then mostly hung around the house all afternoon. There was no way to run out of things to do with the church movies running constantly, the game room filled to the rim with entertainment and of course, there was the visiting. Oh how I missed them so.
Monday we ventured out into town on our own. We visited the Salem Riverfront Park and carousel. Apparently the horses on this carousel are raffled out to the Salem residents who are willing to pay the hefty price. If you win, you get to design the horse to your liking. We thought it was fun that the black one that Zack was on had the CTR logo on the front.

We also ran out to Target for the 3 disc Twilight DVD. Yep, we've watched it. Nope, not the reason we came to Oregon. Although we've learned that the movie was shot in several areas of this beautiful state. And did I mention the hot meals just about three times a day, every day? It was just about the fanciest hotel I've been to!
