Never Too Old For Games

I got a birthday balloon from a sweet visiting teacher. It was sitting on the porch when I got home, attached to candy. Very thoughtful. Well, in my house, candy doesn't last long so the balloon floated alone for another couple of days.

One of the kiddos asked me how long I was going to keep this balloon. I think they were fishing for permission to suck the helium out to make chipmunk sounds. I said we will celebrate my birthday as long as this balloon is floating in the air. When the balloon hit the ground, it was time to call it another year. I released it to the highest part of our ceiling which is a good 20 feet.

Next thing I know the kids had somehow finagled that balloon from the ceiling. That did it! This meant war. After playing chase for a bit, I finally got the balloon in my possession once again. Much to the kids' dismay, I snipped the long string right off of that baby and set it sailing back up to the high ceiling. I felt like a genius and went on my merry little way.

Next thing I knew, they had entrusted their father to do a bit of dirty work for them.

Tricky!!!

But that's ok 'cause they made up for it with this...

And dinner at BJ's. Man they have some avocado rolls to die for!
