Catchin' Up

Oh wow. Can you say lame!

One word. Unmotivated. Not sure what has gotten into me these days, but blogging hasn't even been on my to do list. Honestly I can't even think of anything that has been blog worthy lately. I'm going to think hard and try to do better. I'm about to purchase our second blog book from 2010 and if I don't get movin' I won't have anything to print for 2011! BTW, our first blog book for 2007-09 came out beautiful (thanks to Blog2Print) and it's wonderful to have it in hardback. I sure would recommend it to all.

I got a wonderfully sweet Facebook comment from my never-before-seen blogger friend. It made me miss getting comments on this here blog and it was a bit of a loving kick in the tail. Thanks Tamie!

These days....

Maddie has taken a small break from volleyball (much to her dismay) and continues to stay busy with drama, choir and book club. She is a monster on again, off again. This week her monster is asleep and we tiptoe because we love, love, love the non-monster Maddie. She is still loud, very social, into Taylor Swift and has now been hit with the Bieber fever. Shhhhh, don't tell her I told you! That and she is like a foot taller! We fertilize her daily. This pic was taken by Mike while Maddie was posing for team pics. Nice!
Zack decided not to complete this year's track season so that he could focus a bit more on the academics. He is such a deep thinker and sometimes I've no clue where he gets his ideas. He is so good at drawing and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him with this talent. Next year he's taking art again and hopes to join some academic clubs. He recently lost his second hamster so we are done with animals for a good long while. Still working towards that Eagle Scout award. He is so, so very tender hearted. Full of love!!Zack being, well, Zack!

Graham is almost 17!! Wowzers! He will be a senior next year. Double wowzers! Never a peep of complaint about attending early morning seminary and so far we've not caught him sneeking out the window at night. He really is a great kid. Hope he doesn't decide to break out into his rebel phase next year. Graham has been part of DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) for a couple of years now, learning about business and marketing. He recently went to Dallas for a state competition. We are very proud of him! Now if we could just get him to go on a date....
Graham in his new suit, day before his competition.

I'm still working full time. I'm a lot more tired in the evenings these days. There is just never enough time to do it all! Still attempting this thing called YW President. Trying hard to exercise on a regular basis and training for another 5k a bit. And just today I planted my summer veggie garden. Love it!! We bought a tiller this year so I'm pretty much official, right?! Two days 'til Spring Break and got my to-do list already going. Oh and I got a new truck! With great gas prices, the timing is impecable, right?
Boat+playgrounds+electronics=Mike. We will have the summer of sailing this year as Mike has his boat just about the way he likes it, minus a spinnaker sail which should be here sooner or later. He is no longer Scout Master. I've never known Mike to not be in scouts. It's weird. He is kicking tail in the weight loss department and... don't pass out... has even been exercising!! Roller blading to be exact and man, is he fast! The kids and I love him to bits and pieces. There, I did it. And I even attached some pictures. I had to work a day for staff development while everyone else had the day off. Mike "encouraged" the kids to clean house a bit. It was lovely to come home to a nice, clean place. He sent me this picture. Notice TWO vacuums working simultaneously. He, he, he. Hey, wait...where's the Maddie girl????

ok --- the kids are NOT that old!!!! ACK!!! not that it even counts that i'm freaking out about it but i've watched them grow up through the blog and sigh....that just means that my boys are getting too big as well.
don't wiah for graham to go out on a date --- help him keep it quiet until AFTER his mission --- and then let the lion out and watch the girls come flocking!!! ;)
maddie: lol -- a girl. sigh, not too disappointed that i don't have one of those (esp when there is a monster)

you all are awesome!!! and planting a garden THIS EARLY --- you are so very lucky to get it in so soon. we've got another month or two yet before we can do that one.
and a truck!!!! i felt the same way when we got the van earlier this year ---perfect timing with the gas prices the way that they are going. SUCK!

Those kids are growing by leaps and bounds! I remember how young they were when you and Mike first got together and man, just look at 'em now.
I am green with envy about your garden. I have great soil, good ideas and absolutely no way to carry it out. I'll just have to depend "on the kindness of strangers" to throw their excess veggies my way (including any children who are smart enough to be self-sufficient). I am impressed that Mike can pull his boat with the Mini. You guys know how to have the fun!
