Singing to celebrate

Maddie changed her mind several times before finally deciding on a party theme. We went from the Hunger Games to a sleepover glow party to finally karaoke. Yep. She is Mike's child. It seems that the kids had a great time. Some were obviously more comfortable behind the microphone than others. After almost two hours of LOUD and CONFIDENT singing, we decided to give it a break to open gifts and eat cake. Maddie has a great bunch of friends and it was a good mixture between Pearland and Silverlake wards and old Pearland schools. After Maddie's spotlight, we tried to direct the kids to some group games. Unfortunately some of the visitors' short attention spans wouldn't allow game playing so we moved on to movie watching. That got them quiet and settled down and the adults were able to hear and think again.

Maddie had ended her school day with a choir pajama party that lasted up until the minute her home party started. Needless to say she was running all day and really enjoyed herself. We have yet another teenager in the house. Heaven help us!
