Third and last

I think when we found out Myka was going to be a girl, Mike was tempted to perform cartwheels. He was pretty excited that his days of scouting would be over after Zack became an Eagle Scout. Well the time has finally come and we celebrated Zack's accomplishments on September 7th, 2013. We shared the celebration with two other boys from the ward so there was a really big turnout of supporters. Grandma and Grandpa Feidler even came down for it.

This time, the ceremony was in the gym instead of the chapel. I enjoyed it so much better because it was less formal. They had several people speak and even had the Scouts of Honor share a little about having completed the program. They had siblings apply the new neckerchief. I loved that! Maddie was up their helping Zack and did a great job. President Schmitt got up and talked about those missing, including a set of grandparents who were serving a couple's mission and Elder Feidler, who is serving in Washington. I wish we had video taped it so that Graham could see it and know that he too was honored that day.

There were great treats and decorations. Loads of red, white and blue, including my white chocolate covered strawberries with patriotic sprinkles. I love how the individual scouts' tables are decorated to represent each phase of their scouting career. Now Mike can sigh a big breath of relief and move on to supporting his girls in whatever endeavors they choose.

We are proud of our Zack!
