Update

I think I mentioned before that Mike bought me this fancy new computer in January. Yesterday it officially crashed! Mike spent the better part of last night and today trying to figure out what is wrong with the darn thing. This morning he was on with tech support for over an hour before the phone dropped it's call. And no, we did not get the name of the tech so that we could recall her. And no, she did not call us back! We even went around the block a few times to see if the wireless card would work on other unsecure routers. We looked like weird freaks. And no, that didn't work. So frustrating!! I wanted to use Mike's computer to check email and update my blog, but that's like performing an amputation. I reverted back to my old, loud blow dryer of a computer. So here I am!

I'm on week 2 of my training program and hangin' on! I had a long break during the weekend with not working out Fri, Sat, and Sun. so I was a little nervous about getting going again come Monday. I did great! Granted it was only 5 minutes of walking and 2 of jogging. But it felt good. I was even tempted to stretch myself a bit, but I've read warnings about pushing too much until I'm good and ready. I followed the plan better than last week and actually gave myself the day off yesterday. I really wanted to keep going but Monday Mike and I got a tetanus shot (OUCH)and man, is my arm killing me! So this I woke up and donned my workout get-out. When it was time to get going, it started to drizzle so I came back in for a bit. While I was waiting for it to clear up some, I got nauseous. (No, I'm not PG... I wish.) So I went to lay down for just a minute and that minute turned into about 45 minutes. Needless to say, I was groggy and so not wanting to get out, but I did and I survived. This morning was the hardest, but I don't anticipate it being that hard the rest of the week. The good news is that I put my goal online and now I feel pressured to keep up for my readers. Oh the pressure!

I've been trying the PB toast before I leave each morning as Deni had suggested and it works like a charm. Last year I lost 20 pounds with Weight Watchers and found that with summer coming it was time to do something about the extra 10 that I gathered since then. I figured I'd try out WW again and PB is way too many points. Now that I'm more active, I've got to eat more so WW is out and PB is back in, baby!!

So was Conference great or what? I always get so pumped when I watch it. And now the convenience of sitting in the comforts of my own house is so wonderful. I just love our new prophet. He reminds me of my dad, with the same facial characteristics and a bit of the same personality. So fun to hear him with all of his wonderful stories. I don't know how in the world he remembers all of those stories! I'm looking forward to getting the Ensign so I can read them all over again.

Speaking of President Monson, I read the 1st Presidency message in the April Ensign issue and was so touched. I loved the poem he recited under the Do Not Delay section;

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end;
Yet days go by, and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friend's face,
For Life is a swift and terrible race....
But tomorrow comes-and tomorrow goes,
And the distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner!-yet miles away....
"Here's a telegram, sir...."
"Jim died today."
And that's what we get, and deserve in the end:
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

So sad and yet so encouraging. So in light of that, I am excited about my upcoming trip to Utah! I'm really looking forward to visiting with my brother and his family. I am excited to see my dear friends from just a few years back that I've not seen in what seems like forever.
