The kids have found a trail/bridge/creek/fishing spot within our subdivision that they've been visiting for weeks now. It makes my heart sing when they want to play outside versus stuck behind a computer. However, it makes it tough to get homework and baths out of the way. With it still light out at 8pm it's difficult to get kids in bed by 9p. Darned if they do, darned if they don't, huh?! Monday night as I was leaving for my stamp club, Mike decided to head out there to see how the kids were doing. Apparently the kids kept sending him home on the scooter as the official runner for more bait, weights, and all that official fishing gear. He just loved being able to scooter, I'm sure. Anyway, fun was had by all as Graham caught 2 (I hear one of the poor things still has the hook stuck in it!) and Zack caught this one:
Now most of you might have noticed I placed the word creek somewhere in the above paragraph. Since when do you see fish that big in a creek?! I took one glance at the picture and just about freaked at the size of that thing. Then I caught on and laughed out loud thinking that Mike did a great job on the computer enhancing. He started laughing too... but not for the same reason. Apparently that WAS the fish he caught only at a different angle. See pic below! Now that's more like it. Ha... I felt like a dork.

Ever since HS Musical 2 came out, Maddie has been begging for a green facial and a spa treatment. Well, I have no idea what the green was so I told her it was probably quacamole. Everytime I went to the store she'd hollar, "don't forget the avocadoes!" After weeks, I said what the heck and finally broke down and bought her a couple. Acting like I knew what I was doing, I mushed it and spread it all over (hoping and praying that this 8 year old didn't wake up with a big zit!) She loved it and giggled through the whole thing. I think next time we will pamper ourselves and get the real deal. Silly girl stuff!

ah, girls...maddie already wants facials and pampering...make it special treats and she won't get too girlie on you...that is really cute though.
