Nemo had been sick so back into the car hospital it went. Saturday we all loaded up to go get it and after that we stopped at Wendy's to get a bite. We were all starving! We all stood over the menu, pondering, comparing until we finally decided what to order.... such a process! When we got to the table and unwrapped all our yummies, we got such a great laugh 'cause this was our discovery...
All of us little people were stuffed silly from our oversized combo meals and all my poor 6'3" footer got was this lousy mini meal. By dinner time, he was famished... go figure! This weekend was Mike's birthday weekend!! Friday was his birthday but Thursday night he somehow talked us all into letting him open his gift. Pretty lame that he knew what he was getting as I ordered it forever ago and hid it pretty darn good. Surely it had nothing to do with the fact that he researched the heck out of it and found the cheapest price for it, printed out the picture with the desired color and website where I could order it from and sat the printout on the table next to my computer. Truth be told... he paid for it too! Here is a picture of it. We'll call it the monster watch. It's huge and he loves it that way.
Friday morning was business as usual, up early to get the eldest to seminary, then the other two off to school. Mike headed off to work. Stinky, huh? I think he just went up to the office to get his birthday spotlight! The kids were supposed to go with their mom, but that didn't work out so we all went out for some good grub at the Saltgrass Steakhouse. Did I mention that we tend to celebrate around food most of the time? Dinner was great, the company was great!
Our church ward had Trunk or Treat way early this year. Saturday morning we got up and headed out to the church to help set up. The activity committee did things a little different this year by delegating the other auxillaries to decorate rooms and themed activities. It worked out great! The RS was in charge of the Splat the Bat game in the bat cave. I think it turned out pretty cool. Of course pictures don't do it justice 'cause you can't see the spookiness. The cave was made of tables and paper but hey, who doesn't love an oversized clubhouse?! We had so much smoke from the fog machine that the alarms in the church building went off! Talk about embarrassing!! I couldn't have done it without my husband and kiddos. Fun was had by all and we got some pretty darn cute pics.
Our BAT CAVE entrance....Our BAT CAVE!
The Adams Family...After church, we came home to the aroma of lunch. So nice to get lunch going before church and then come home to it done. All I had to do was whip up some batter bread and vuala. Only a little tininy bit left for leftovers... such a wonderful feeling when my family chows down on my preparations. After we ate, Maddie and I got busy in the kitchen... again... baking goodies. We're gonna "Boo" somebody tomorrow night for FHE!!

You are such a cute, crafty fun person! I LOVE the picture of you hacking the hello kitty in half-ha ha ha Great costumes for sure!!!
i still love the family photo op room---how clever!
we do something like that for our trunk-or-treat in that differenet auxillaries take charge of different rooms (though i think that they nixed the YM's spook alley this year) primary is always in charge of the cupcake walk---i'm making alien cupcakes...
tell mike happy b-day from us!
Doug Heffernan--hilarious!
