R & R & R

This will be a very short entry as we are about to head off for some rest, relaxation and recreation.

Summer has been good to us. We have highly enjoyed each other so far so we'll see if this short road trip does us in.

We got Zack back after a week of Boy Scout summer camp. In short, it was hot, they persevered lightning, thundering and raining for two whole days, and icky bugs (including a nasty scorpion in his tent!) But he came home smiling. We are proud that he made it the whole week and his camp leader had nothing but good to say about his behavior and example.

Just last night we got Graham back from a week's Boy Scout trip to Florida. They experienced deep sea fishing, snorkling, and playing/camping on the beach. He had a great time and brought home some Krispy Kream for all of us.

Maddie has been spending many days and nights with friends and family. She spent several days with my sister when I was playing at Youth Conference and poor Mike was working. She is growing up so fast! Watching her mature into a beautiful young lady has been quite a treat.

Youth Conference was great fun for me (and Graham.) We had fun late-night pranking, dancing, playing with bottle rockets, and painting for service. We were spiritually uplifted by "celebrity" speakers and youth testimonies.

Mike has been anticipating the iPhone 4 coming soon. So much so that he has already sold his current iPhone and is using a go phone in the meantime. I wonder if he knew what he was getting himself into. Often I find him wandering the house confused and dazed. No touch screen, email and texting at the tips of his fingers has certainly done a number on him. He is anxiously counting the days down to June 24th. Luckily our vacation may just keep him a bit occupied and he won't be so tortured.
