Boy turning man

Zack turned 15 this week! Our sweet, cuddly Zack is a year older and STILL sweet and cuddly. Oh what a beautiful relief!! Zack never wants for much on his birthday. No big bash, no long wish list or special requests. How do you spoil and celebrate with no wishes?! It's enough to want to beat him if we didn't love him so much. His one request after much harrassment, was french toast so we woke up early and served french toast for all. He tried to hide the fact that it was his birthday, attempting to avoid the spotlight. His wicked step-mom wished him a happy birthday all over the seminary chalkboard the night before at mutual so he couldn't avoid it 100%. That evening we enjoyed some chinese food, another of his favorites, and his choice of cake, pineapple upside down. He received a gift from us and a few gifts of money from extended family so I think he went to bed feeling content and loved.
Who knew that candles don't just show up when you need them for the next birthday. Whoever is in charge of the candle supply really bombed this one. Even our improvised candle couldn't keep the smile off his face. He's such a good sport!

He's even had an opportunity to take the wheel on a short, slow spin around the church parking lot. We won't even mention who allowed that and got chastised for it. This innocent person was just trying to motivate the boy to finish his Eagle Scout just in time to get his driver's license. Can't believe he could be driving on his own in a year!

Happy Birthday Zack. You are so very loved!!!
