Daddy mummy

This Halloween we were invited to a family friendly party. It was a great idea because there were mixed emotions about the older kids going trick or treating this year. This party allowed the little ones to trick or treat with parents and the older kids to play games with each other at the house. The games involved candy AND gift cards so the older kids didn't walk away empty handed. The kids were also able to be involved in an activity that transformed their dad into a mummy.
A few of us dressed up this year. Maddie was adorable as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Her hair is so very long these days and made perfect low side ponies. This outfit was from her last dance recital. It takes a lot of persuasion to get Zack in a costume and we've been unsuccessful for the past couple of years.

Mike was such a good sport with our Ken and Barbie costumes last year that this year I agreed to be a wide-mouthed zombie. Paybacks are hard! It was actually quite fun putting the costume together. It was tough to decipher whether the reactions of those we came into contact with were those of fear, disgust or amazement. Ha!
On the other side of the country, Graham decided to pose as Mitt Romney. I think the costume was highly accepted in the great state of Utah and he's had a lot of fun with that mask.

I'm pretty sure Maddie is already counting the days until next Halloween night as she will have little sister to tug around. And little sister will not be able to eat that much candy so someone will have to step in and make that sacrifice. What a great big sister!
