It's no news that Mike lost that loving feeling for camping and outdoor activities, AKA scouting, a long time ago. Needless to say he was most content to find out we were having another girl. I think this also lit a fire under him to help Zack get the Eagle Scout project completed and over with. Finally and forever. I think Zack also sees the light at the end of the tunnel and is working hard to get this project finalized. They have a plan and it will commence during Spring Break. Very exciting stuff! Here is a picture of Zack handsomely donning his scout uniform.
Valentine's Day came and went. It was low key this year and we decided to exchange hugs and a candy or two. I don't know that this day was a big deal for everyone before I came along. Now I feel the pressure to continue attempting to make these kiddos feel extra loved on a day that has become so unreasonably commercialized, and without breaking the bank. This has proven to be more challenging in their teenage years. Mike on the otherhand, continued his tradition of bringing lunch and flowers to me (and baby - see the momma monkey looking after the baby monkey?) at work. It's always wonderful to see him at work and my co-workers are always impressed. Come to think of it, I really don't see a lot of other hubbies coming by for lunch and it makes me feel pretty special. We had quite the commotion in my office during his visit, exposing Mike to a bit of blood and guts. We'll see if he has a change of heart next year.
I am still pregnant! And loving it. As she gets bigger, I make a great punching bag. What started out as little flickers has become under cuts and side blows. We are looking at 6 weeks or less to go now. I'm feeling great and still getting plenty of sleep. Baby girl stays very active during the day and settles down right before I put my head on the pillow for the night. I'm praying that by some miracle, she continues this pattern. Others comment that I don't look to be 8 months pregnant, and I'm ok with that. I take their word for it because I stopped glaring in the mirror weeks ago! The doctor says she is at the perfect size for her gestational age. We have our first baby shower tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to seeing friends I've not seen in a good while. I'll post on that later. Here's a pic of me at 33 weeks.
Graham's mission papers are submitted!! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of his call which should be this weekend or the next. I know he is nervous but curious as well. We are so proud of his decision to serve a mission for the church and we know he will learn and grow and experience things like never before. Once he gets used to life without heavy electronic use, he will thrive. He will be a great missionary and we are quite confident he will touch lives.
